As a person begins their spiritual journey, they slowly start experiencing the true grandeur of their life and existence. This results as a positive beneficial effect of their conscious and aware way of living.
A person who has experienced even the first taste of ascension, is aware that there is a bigger purpose to their life. It is something that cannot be measured by simple material pursuits and achievements. They realize that they are here for a specific purpose. They need to learn their lessons, address their karmic baggage, and ultimately rise further up the ascended planes of existence.
To accomplish anything worthwhile on this material plane of earthly existence, we need to have focus, discipline, and total commitment. All of these are required even for spiritual pursuits and accomplishments. It is just that, instead of channeling one's ambitions and goals towards material pursuits, a spiritual seeker directs them towards his or her spiritual practice and to attain higher states of ascension- i.e., increased awareness of the deeper workings of our true cosmic existence.
