Maitreyi   is my mystic name. It is very common in the ways of the Himalayan Masters, that as a person starts on their true spiritual journey, they take on a name which is indicative of their new life-intension.   Maitreyi comes from the root word- Maitri, which means friendship. So, Maitreyi is the 'Friendly One'.

Maitreyi also signifies a Brahmavadini, 'woman ascetic'- a mystic, who devotes her life to study the  mysteries of The Universal Cosmic Principle. Gautam is to honor the maternal side of  my Himalayan Masters heritage.

Yogini Maitreyi   comes from the original Vedic Tradition- a lineage of the original Himalayan Masters- the Rishis, who were the original Light Seers.  

Vedic Tradition is one of world’s oldest living cultures.  The Vedic Culture is ofcourse  very famous for its unparalleled contribution to humanity. It has given mankind several treasures such Yoga, Meditation, Conscious-Living and Vedic Sciences such as Ayurveda, Jyotish (Vedic Astrology), Vedic Physics & Vedic Mathematics among many other wisdom-treasures!

On my mother's side,  the ancestry goes back to the Vedic seer (Himalayan Master) Rishi Gautam, who devised one of the limbs of Ashtanga Yoga (Eight Limbs of Yoga). Rishi Gautam further is from the lineage of Sapta Rishi Gautam (the original Seven Light Seers). On my father's side,  my ancestry dates back to the Vedic seer (Himalayan Master)  Rishi Kaundinya who is from the Rishi Vashishta Sapta Rishi lineage.

Professionally,  Yogini Maitreyi  Gautam   used to work as   a Management Consultant and Technology Architect. Her educational background is in Physical Sciences & Quantum Mechanics and she has special training from esteemed  institutions, in Computing Management.  Learn more...

Yogini Maitreyi is trained as an Ayurveda Specialist– Nutritionist and a Certified Aroma, Color & Crystal Therapist. She also has several certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy.  She has also studied with ancient Shamans and obtained attunement to Reiki Energy Levels I & II.

Her training in a variety of scientific and esoteric subjects help Yogini Maitreyi to better co-relate and express a concept. In addition, what truly helps Yogini Maitreyi to understand the intricacies of a topic or the crux of any problem, is her innate ability to sense and feel the deep, inner workings of nature- the very cosmic energy principle.

Within her Art & Music  compositions, Yogini Maitreyi tries to capture the divine inspiration in each of her creations. Her spiritual Vedic lineage and her attunement to Prana (Ki, Chi) and other vibrational energy practices provide her with the means to capture a glimpse of the healing spirit and infuse her  artistic creations with the Universal energy.

There is a myth with people- that natural, minimalist living involves looking super thin and gaunt and with a hippie hair-style. That is not the case at all... not that there is anything wrong with being super thin and gaunt. There are times when I do wish I was much slimmer! But, one can continue to look their natural body type (a little plump and chubby in Maitreyi's case), do professional work (as a Management Consultant) in a highly competitive business setting and still live a happy, content and natural lifestyle.

A truly Yogic-lifestyle (one that is in-sync with self, nature and life) is all about "being" and not as much about external things.

​Of course external factors can and do influence- BUT, it is not as important as, what is within us. Also, once we understand how these external factors influence what is inside of us (Ayurvedic teachings), it helps us to work in ways- which benefits each individual, while also maintaining one's own family and cultural "decorum".

In addition, while being a mystic, Yogini Maitreyi also has a "daily existence" like everyone else. Even though she tries to live 'as not of this world'- but she very much has an 'in this world'  existence. Similar to most people- she has a job to do, money to earn and taxes to pay... Each day, she runs into all kinds of people- the amazingly nice and kind people, who are willing to explore the deeper levels of their existence and at times, also those people who are too mired in their own shadow side and delusions!

​Thru guided-insights, wisdom and real-life experience, Yogini Maitreyi has found ways to deal with each interaction in her life- to bring out its highest expression for everyone involved in that situation.
