Today I was at the auto shop trying to get my winter tires changed. Yes, we need do that here in cold-Canada!!
Maybe folks from other parts of the world, do not realize that here in Canada because of the cold and snow, we change our car tires to winter ones from late fall into end of winter and then for years like this one- where it was snowing even until couple of weeks ago, we change them back to all-season ones from late spring to mid-to-late fall.

So, I had given my car in for tire change and I was waiting in the line. There were several other customers as it was a busy long-weekend time for them. Then a car-work got completed. The shop mechanic came out with the keys and gave them to the customer service lady and she asked “who is Precious?”.
Then, this one lady got up from the waiting area and even as she was walking to the counter, another woman chirped in- "I am also precious!!" Then the shop-lady as well as the customer laughed and said- “yes, we are all precious”!! Of course, she said it in jest- but it made me think…

How often do we think of ourselves as “precious”. We all tend to think of our self as ‘this’ or ‘that’- our titles, roles and so on… we even think of ourselves as a good or bad person, smart or stupid… BUT we hardly ever stop to think- beyond all these judgements, there is one simple truth-
I am Divine Incarnate. I am a spirit having a human experience. I am Life itself and because of this, I am precious. Yes, I surely make mistakes and there are times I even wonder how I could have possibly done something without proper thinking (read- “was stupid”:-)) BUT, none of that takes away the fact that I am a unique, precious existence. Not a “this or that”… but a simple manifestation of life and its workings.
From today on, take a moment each day to reflect on your own unique-presence, your existence and being-ness and how it makes you “precious”.
