Herbs can have a significant effect on improving and maintaining hearing as well. Ginkgo has been found to help reduce chances of hearing problems such as tinnitus. It is commonly used in China to treat ear conditions. It is suggested that gingko promotes the flow of blood to the ear nerves and helps increase hearing.
Ginger is another commonly used herb in Chinese medicine that helps infections from forming within the ear. It deters unhealthy nerve activity in the ear as well.
Echinacea, while known for being an antibiotic, can relieve ear infections that may lead to loss of hearing. It also lowers ear inflammation.
