
The Prasna Upanishad (Devnagri: प्रश्न उपनिषद्) or the Prashnopanishad (Devnagri: प्रश्नोपनिषद्) is one of the main, i.e. Primary Upanishads. It is associated with the Atharva Veda. This classic Vedic scripture is time immemorial and is meant to be read, re-read and studied to understand the true nature of our consciousness and existence.
‘Prasna’ in Sanskrit means question. This Upanishad consists of six questions and their answers.
Basically the premise of this Upanishad begins with six students, who are interested in learning about the Supreme Divinity or Brahman, visiting Sage Pippalada at his ashram (Vedic spiritual school). They request him to clarify their doubts and impart them with knowledge on the Supreme Brahman.
