Utilize the "Power of Light" to achieve your goals & ambitions

I suppose you have already seen my video on the three days with special energy which helps us to put our plans into action for amazing success.

Vedic culture gives a lot of importance to exact days and times. But since most people are not familiar with the Panchang (Vedic calendar which gives lots of valuable information) and many people do not even understand what all the information-details really mean… so, from a practical stand point, read on to see how we can best set our plans in action to attain success and victory in our endeavors!

So, as we saw in the last post, trying to make new year resolutions typically fails and our plans fall thru within a few weeks.
The better approach is that we utilize the holiday times to reflect on our wants and desires, wishes and goals.

It is very interesting to note that even though most people will say “I want to be rich”, “I want to be successful” and so on… most folks do not have the required clarity around what “rich” or “success” truly means to them.
Here, I am not speaking of exact numbers- but a feeling, an understanding of what it is that one is vying for!! To one person making an extra $1000 a month can seem a big deal and to another person, that is just pocket change!!

Now, coming back to our topic… we should utilize the time during the holidays to mull over and reflect on our wants and wishes. Then starting with the new year, we should start putting proper structure around our desires.

We should lay down concrete plans which answer questions like how we can reach our goals. What are possible obstacles and how can be best tackle them!
Picture
And then, say 19 to 20 days into the new year (this year that phase is from Jan 20 thru till Jan 22), you can start the work on your plans- i.e. start putting them into action. Usually you can expect to get a window of around 3 to 4 days… starting from around Jan 19th to Jan 23rd ish.

Now, don’t get worried or stat sweating the fact, that you cannot read panchang or what if you are doing the work at a “wrong time”.

Frankly, till you start your plans after the Makar Sankranti, which is when Sun enters the sign of Capricorn as per the sidereal zodiac and most importantly- Sun starts its northward trek; this is the most important part.   See the special note below about Sidereal zodiac.

Since it is a festival celebration in most parts of India, called by various names like Sankranti festival, Lodhi and so on… After the Sankranti days, give yourself another four to five days and you should get your special time period of 3-4 days… (that is how I said about considering Jan 19- thru 23 ish).
Picture
Vedic culture is very logical and frankly it is also very easy to understand and follow… after all it is extremely structured and scientific in its approach (not just empirical like much of modern science).

This way, you utilize the cosmic energies in your favor. We all know that if you were to sow seeds in the heart of winter, they are all surely going to rot and die!! To even get a fair chance to grow to fruition, it is important to plant the seeds at a proper time… ofcourse not to mention, take proper care, provide proper nutrition and so on…

In our case- when we start work on our action plan is the first part. Then we need to ensure that we are following a proper structure and diligently working on our plans, obtaining any required assets, competencies and so on to finally obtain our objective, our goal!

The added light from Sun’s northward trek, called Uttarayana will help you in obtaining all the positive energies that you require to work on your goals and ambitions.

This in turn will at least provide you with a suitable environment to achieve success.
Will you get it or not- that would depend on many other factors such as your abilities, your efforts, your karmas and so on… more on that in another post.

Why do most New Year Resolutions Fail– a Vedic science perspective

Jan 15, 2020… It is a new year and if you are like most people, you probably made many new year resolutions and by now, some of them (if not most) have already been broken!!  :-(

But don’t feel bad. Since every year, many people make all kinds of resolutions… to give up on their addictions, take up new exercise regimen, resolutions to better manage their finances, save more money and so many other decisions- and all across the board; most of these resolutions fall apart even before the end of the month!!

These are changes that are usually desperately needed in those people’s lives. They have already identified the challenges that are preventing them from leading a healthy, happy and successful life (whatever these things mean to them at an individual level).
They have done the reflection, evaluation, strategy and planning on how to resolve their problems/issues… some even write up detailed and structure program to initiate during the new year and then maintain any required changes, but for some odd reason, these decisions, i.e. these new year resolutions just don’t seem to stick!

We all know that change is always difficult to implement and accept. But even when it is badly impacting a person’s sense of joy, health and well-being, they cannot seem to win their “Battle of Resolutions”.

And the worst part is that- it leaves people with a sense of “losing” or “being weak”, right at the start of the year! How upsetting is that!!!!!

You probably have heard of ‘timing is everything’. Most people think of it as either something dogmatic, superstitious or even cliché and simply ignore the importance of timing important events.

Now, when you consider this whole “Battle of Resolution” scenario from a Vedic science perspective, it will make perfect sense.

During Dec 31- Jan 1 of any year, Sun is always in Sagittarius as per the sidereal calculations. This time is not considered auspicious for several reasons…

For one, it is still Dakshiyana and the Divine energies are considered to be at much lower levels than the non-divine energies!

And then to aggravate matters further, with Makar Sankranti being right around the corner on Jan 14th of each year, the new year eve (as per Gregorian calendar) would be the darkest phase of the Sun’s motion!! To understand this, think of how pre-dawn times are considered as the darkest part of a night.

In case, you are not aware, Jan 14 i.e. Makar Sankranti is supposed to be the start of Uttarayana- i.e. Sun’s motion back towards light. As already mentioned in another article- Jan 14th is usually a great day to strategize and plan for the year ahead. Read the full article:   Makar Sankranti- today Sun can give you special burst of energy. Utilize its blessings to plan for the entire year…

So basically, when you make new year’s resolutions (as per the Gregorian calendar) then you are making your decision and initiating new activity when the life-giving Sun’s energies are farthest away from us and the beneficent divine energies are low!!

No wonder most people just do not feel the strength, determination or will to continue with their resolutions. We have life on earth because of the Sun and it not only provides us light, it also allows us to have good health, vitality, power for life and zest for living. It is also not a wonder    that decisions made when Sun is farthest from earth typically just seem to lack an ‘intrinsic power’ to continue… and so they obviously fail!!

In fact, there is a simple and yet extremely effective timeline which can be utilized to ensure we are adequately benefiting from the divine positive energies and the bright effulgence of our Sun to pave way to joy and success in life.

How? I will cover that in the next article… stay tuned and till then- “wish you the very best times ahead…”

Special note: In case you are wondering about sidereal and tropical zodiac, then sidereal calculations are used in Vedic Astrology (originally called Jyotish- The Science of Light) and tropical calculations are used in what is considered as Western Astrology.

Typically, there will be a degree lag of around 23 degrees between the two zodiacs.
Clarification about Makar Sankranti date: Traditionally Makar Sankranti has been celebrated on Jan 14 of each year. But because of the distances that our celestial bodies have traversed over these past several thousands of years, the exact calculation of when Sun enters the zodiac (rashi) of Makar (Capricorn) is now changing.

This year and probably going forward, depending on where you are living in the world, the exact day on which you celebrate Makar Sankranti would vary from the traditional Jan 14th. This year, residents from several countries like India and further east like Australia & New Zealand are celebrating Makar Sankranti on Jan 15th.

As always, when it comes to timing such cosmic events, it is best to refer to your local Panchang.

What are the energies of an archetype? Positive 'or' Negative?

6/16/2019

The concept of archetype is not limited to the Vedic way of thinking. In fact most ancient religions and spiritual ways of thinking utilized this concept in one way or another.

We see this with angels. Angels are higher energy beings and there is supposed to be an angel who is specific to a requirement or blessings.

Even within Christianity, we find this kind of concept of archetype being present. We have specific saints that we can pray to for a specific need- e.g. Saint Anthony is considered as the patron saint for lost things. I.e. one can pray to Saint Anthony if we have lost something and he can help us find it.
Picture
As for the Vedic culture, we have several different kinds of celestial beings. The Vedic way of thinking is very much in alignment with what Quantum Mechanics is only now (i.e. in recent years) starting to understand.  We know that our universe (or better called as Shristhi in Sanskrit, which means everything in creation) exists in various quantum states i.e. various states of existence. So, depending on the level of energy we have different kinds of celestial beings.

Some of them are of higher energy levels than us humans and they are called as the suras. And the ones who are lower than us in their state of consciousness are called asuras.

In a very loose translation from Sanskrit to English- the suras are called as the Gods and the asuras are called as the demons. Also, all the suras are also not at the same level of their energetic existence. We have Rati and Manmat who are the archetypes for Passion and Good Looks or we have Kubera who is the archetype for money and wealth.
These archetypes, represent energies that can easily turn from positive to negative and are on the borderline in the plane of existence, so such archetypes though revered are also considered on the borderline of the suras and asuras.

Then there are many other types of celestial beings as explained in several books- we have Gandharvas, who are the celestial musicians, Yakshas who are the nature beings and so on…

So, when you think of an archetype- think of the underlying energy they represent… is it positive or is it negative or is it something that can easily become positive or negative depending on who is using it and how!!
