So, I had given my car in for tire change and I was waiting in the line. There were several other customers as it was a busy long-weekend time for them. Then a car-work got completed. The shop mechanic came out with the keys and gave them to the customer service lady and she asked “who is Precious?”. So, this one lady got up from the waiting area and even as she was walking to the counter, another woman chirped in- "I am also precious!!" Then the shop-lady as well as the customer laughed and said- “yes, we are all precious”!! Of course, she said it in jest- but it made me think…
How often do we think of ourselves as “precious”. We all tend to think of our self as ‘this’ or ‘that’- our titles, roles and so on… we even think of ourselves as a good or bad person, smart or stupid… BUT we hardly ever stop to think- beyond all these judgements, there is one simple truth-
I am Divine Incarnate. I am a spirit having a human experience. I am Life itself and because of this, I am precious. Yes, I surely make mistakes and there are times I even wonder how I could have possibly done something without proper thinking (read- “was stupid”:-)) BUT, none of that takes away the fact that I am a unique, precious existence. Not a “this or that”… but a simple manifestation of life and its workings.
